Lots of traveling

Hello people! I am writing this from Elpaso, TX. For those of you who didnt know I am here visiting Kati for two months, we have been doing allot of stuff, We went on a road trip with our friend RJ (I staffed his DTS) to Houston for a week to visit some friends we have down there, on the way back we stopped and spent the night in Dallas where we visited Brooke (staffed my DTS). It was of fun to see them all again and I am very glad that we went!

Last week we drive up to San Francisco, CA for Kati’s brothers wedding, I got to meet a whole bunch of Kati’s family and we went to the beach.

Now we are back in Elpaso, I am going back to England next week and then Kati will join me when she gets her visa for the UK (hopefully she will be there be the second week of August. We will start staffing at YWAM Harpenden at the start of September, in between now and then I will be working and me and Kati are hopefully going to visit my family in Holland.

Please be praying for us, especially for Kati’s visa and that we can go to Holland before we have to be at the YWAM base.

Hello everyone, its been a while since my last update. Plans have changed a bit lately, I will be flying out to Texas on the 17th of May to visit my girlfriend. We will stay at her parents house for a month and go to her brothers wedding in California. we will be back in the UK on the 13th of July.

For the last 2 months I have been doing freelance web design, I am currently working on 3 different projects, I feel really blessed for having these projects because it is not easy to get jobs in this area.

So if you or someone you know needs a website then you know who to contact

Hello everyone, I finished the school of web design and communication on Friday (yesterday). It has been really good and I have learned so much and I have made some very good friends. I am at my dads house now and I will be here for the next 2 – 2 and a half months to try to make some money so that I can buy a plane ticket to Texas so that I can staff there again, Kati will also be there.
The work that I am going to be doing here will be mostly web design, I have a few projects that I am going to be working on and I am hopefully also going to get some more projects as well so that I will not have to much down time while I am here.

If any of you people that are reading this have any web design work that you need or you have any questions about how much I charge for making a website please get in contact with me

Its been exactly a month now since my last update, way to long! I have been kept very busy with all of the web design and other things that I am doing here.
Currently I am working on the ywamlondon.com website and the 30 Days UK website, they are both relatively big projects and Im pretty sure that they will keep me busy until the end of the school. On top of that I am also updating my portfolio site a little bit (click here to see the page that i have been working on). Three new schools have started over the last month on this campus so there are allot of new people here and a DTS has just come back from outreach.

Since I have been back our school has switched work duties, so now we are doing two hours a day of grounds/maintenance work instead of working in the kitchen. I am enjoying it more except when its raining it can get a little annoying.

There are three and a half weeks left in this school, the last day being the 11th of march. After that I am going back home to my dads house to work a little bit. If you need me to do a website then now would be the perfect time to contact me.

Back in Harpenden

So finally I got round to writing another post, the last few weeks have been a little crazy. My Christmas holiday was really good, I was in England at my dads place for the first week and then in Switzerland with my mum for the second week with my youngest brother and my sister, I really enjoyed it. When I was back in England Kati came here for a week, we both knew about 2 days before she was here so it was a really big shock and a surprise. She ended up being here for one and a half weeks but she was only ment to be here for a week, she had allot of trouble getting here and back, three of her flights she either missed or were cancelled. She is finally on her way home again now, it was really good to see her again and I am already looking forward to the next time we see each other.

I have now been back in Harpenden for a few days, There are three new schools are now started, this means that there are allot of new people here. I am now staying in another building, in a bigger room with only one other guy (Fred).

I will try to post something at least every two weeks while I am doing this internship, I will end this one here because I am tired and need to sleep! Goodnight.

12th and final post of the school of web design!

Hello everybody. This is the last week of the first half of the school of web design that I am taking, we were finishing off our final projects this week and I managed to get mine all done! if you want to have a look you can right here.

This will also be the last weekly update that I will do for a while. I am going to try to post updates every two weeks from now on.

I am going to go back to my dads house on Sunday and be there until the 27th when I will fly over to Zurich to spend new years eve at my mums house!

Eleventh Week of the Web School

This week we started our final project. To design a generic YWAM base template that any YWAM base can use. Because this is a two week project i have spent the first week just designing the website and then next week I will code it. It has been a pretty good week, not to intense and we even had Monday off. I Am really looking forward to finishing next week because then I am going home to my dads house for Christmas break and then on the 27th I am flying to Switzerland to visit my mum for new years eve. I will then be back here at the end of the first week of January to start the second half of this school. An internship in the communications department. Hope all of you have had a good week as well.

Tenth week of the Web School

This week we have been working on our portfolio’s, which is a website to show the work that we have done in this school. I finished mine on Thursday, here is a link to it

The work was not that hard because I was working for myself in some ways, This also gave me a chance to help some of the other students as well when I was finished.

Because of the cold that we have here the classroom that we were in has become to cold to work in, even though there is a heater there the room is to big for that heater to heat up. As a result we have moved to a different classroom where it is warmer this meant having to move all the computers to the new classroom. Im very happy now because I dont have to wear a jacket in class any more!

Ninth Week of the Web School

Web evangelism was the theme for the first half of this week. A guy called Tony came down to teach us for a few days. What exactly is web evangelism? It is evangelism through websites and social network sites. Because so many people have computers now and also mobile phones can now display web pages and in allot of places where the majority of people can’t afford a computer many do have a mobile phone and so the internet can be used to reach them as well.

Some of what he was teaching about was about not communicating through the web as a preacher but more like a journalist because people that don’t know and don’t want to know about God wont want to go to a “preachy” website. So a website should be more like the audience would want to find.

The next half of the week was to start working on our online portfolio, to show people what we have been doing and of course it is good practice because the portfolio is a website in itself We will be working on this next week as well so look out for next weeks post where i will link you guys to my portfolio.
